Steven Feldstein ’04 received the University of Louisville’s annual Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order. The $100,000 prize honors the work in his 2021 e-book on how digital technology fuels political repression. A Carnegie Democracy, Conflict, and Governance Program senior fellow, Feldstein showed how governments use internet shutdowns, facial recognition, and other instruments to intimidate critics and unfold propaganda.
